Wad a shamblesPDFPrintE-mail

Beechwood managed to save their worst performance of the season for their penultimate game away at Wadhurst, largely due to an inept batting display. The visitors struggled to a pathetic 101 all out (I'm trying not to write this with a Bob Willis voice, but it's difficult), after winning the toss and electing to bat. The only real resistance came from Tony Freeman who scored 31 before being dismissed shortly before tea.

The mood in the field was that the game was already lost, and that attitude usually helps the result come even more swiftly, as Wadhurst got to the total in just 16.4 overs and three wickets down.

Hopefully our final game of the season at home to Fordcombe will be played with a bit more fight and pride, as both were missing in abundance today. The Doc is not amused...
