Beechwood were left to reflect on missed chances as Broadway held on for a draw in an entertaining game at Otford.

The hosts batted first and McLachlan (48) and Morris (53) top-scored although everyone in the top order got a good start - Beechwood finished on 186 for 4 at tea.

In reply the visitors started very positively but were pegged back from going from the win with wickets consistently falling. Chris Savory once again did the lion's share of the bowling with figures of 3 for 44 from 12 overs. At eight wickets down, stand-in skipper Hamish McLachlan decided to throw Bradley Hill the ball for his first spell all season, and the gamble nearly paid off as the home fielders dropped twice off his bowling at the end. So near yet so far....
