Beechwood made a welcome return to Chevening Amblers after many years, but were thwarted in their attempt to pick up another win by their old nemesis Andy Clark.

The visitors made steady progress throughout their innings, with Keith Makin making amends for running out two of his team mates with a fine 46 not out from 59 balls, as Beechwood ended on 180 for 7.

In reply, opener Clark stood firm as wickets tumbled around him, eventually getting clean-bowled by Savory for a sterling 94. In the end, the hosts stood firm finishing on 132 for 8 and achieving the draw on a very enjoyable afternoon of cricket.
