Fraser MorrisBeechwood drew their latest game at home to Carshalton Athletic on a flat pitch and a pleasant May afternoon, despite only having nine men (to Carshalton's ten).

Highlight of the day was undoubtedly Fraser Morris's unbeaten 117, with all the top order contributing Tony Freeman (24), Hamish McLachlan (24) and a fine 44 not out from Larry Culhane.  In the end Beechwood finished on 230 for 2 at tea.

Bowling with nine men on such a batsman-friendly wicket was always going to be tough, and so it proved to be with Chris Savory (3/49) and Steve Cooksley (2/30) the only wicket-takers, as Carshalton finished on 156 for 5.

A good friendly encounter though with our guests being great company on and off the field as usual, and hopefully next season we can manage a full-blooded eleven-a-side encounter.
