Beechwood started their 2012 season in peculiar fashion and lost their opening two matches.

Away to Southborough, despite a personal-best 147 by Fraser Morris and the opposition being reduced to 30 for 5, Beechwood managed to lose the opening fixture by five wickets after a Southborough stand of 178.

Back home at Otford, the batting this time was the culprit, and Beechwood succumbed to Carshalton getting bowled out for a paltry 46, but gave the opposition a scare as Carshalton lost six wickets, including a five-wicket haul for Larry Culhane before making their target.
