Beechwood enjoyed a 33 run victory against new opponents Dulwich Wanderers at Limpsfield, despite coming into the game without any of their main seam bowlers.

onkarGramopadhye - 41 runs and four wickets

After losing the toss and being invited to bat first, the hosts battled to 166 for 8, with some belligerent batting from Morris (44) and a classy display of strokeplay from Onkar Gramopadhye (41).   Even Chris Savory joined in the fun, hitting the last ball of the innings for six which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in the home changing room at least.

In reply, Dulwich Wanderers got off to a steady start, and the target looked very attainable, despite some good controlled bowling from Hill and McCrea.   This was always going to be the calm before the storm, as Beechwood's premier spinners, Onks and Savers, were waiting on the sidelines - and inevitably their introduction proved to be the turning point in a run chase that ebbed and flowed between the two sides.

It was Beechwood who emerged victorious, the Wanderers eventually being dismissed for 133, with Gramopadhye taking 4 for 46, and Savory another 5 for 37.

All in all an enjoyable match played in great spirit, and we hope this will be the first of many tussles between two evenly-matched sides.
